Eyelet Story

A drawing on showcasing how the stitching work connect the two frame edge.

We don’t believe in limitations. If we can stitch clothing, shoes, bags, books, etc… why can’t we stitch eyewear?

Drawing inspiration from the stitching on clothing, bags and shoes, the Eyelet frames uses stitches as a functional locking mechanism and is performed with extreme attention to detail and finish using hand-executed techniques. The “stitch-locking” system replaces the conventional screw locking system and the process is eco-friendly with no soldering involved.

This is the beginning of Eyelet – the name means “stitch-
locking eyewear”. The Eyelet is the world first stitch-locking
eyewear using nylon string to lock the lenses within the rims
of the frame.

Collection

Eyelet is based around an innovative and functional stitch-locking mechanism which makes soldering of joints and screw-locking system redundant. The one-piece frame is cut out from high tensile strength stainless steel which is inherently recyclable. Eyelet is a very light weight eyewear which requires almost no adjustment and it fits comfortably on the face of the wearer. There is a wide selection of styles to choose from.

Award

“This product fascinated us with its novel combination of different materials. The glasses employ the traditional technique of sewing in an entirely new context to join the sheet metal pieces of the frame together. Sewing was also used as a design element: the nylon threads serve both as constructive and decorative element,” read the jury’s verdict on this fashionable iF gold award winner.
